Green phones have been installed in many of our bodyshops around the country, to raise awareness of the FamilyLine service.

People FlourishLV= and Family Action have joined forces for Mental Health Awareness Week to encourage men to open up and ask for help with our “Help is At Hand” campaign.

This new initiative gives employees, customers and visitors of LV= branded bodyshops a safe and private space to talk about their problems. Our green phones, which can be found at many of our repair garages, have QR codes taking users straight to Family Action’s FamilyLine – a free helpline offering practical, financial and emotional support and guidance. Additional Family Line services which can be accessed include coaching, counselling and befriending.

The scheme has been launched after research from LV= General Insurance and our charity partner Family Action highlighted that almost 1 in 5 men (18%) didn’t know where to go when they need help and support with their problems.

Other findings of our research include:

  • 81% of men admit to hiding their problems from those closest to them and 40% would rather talk to a stranger than with friends or family
  • 2 in 5 men are feeling the pressures of family life like never before, with their top concern being financial difficulties due to the increased cost of living (40%)
  • 49% of men felt they’ve needed support this year but 74% haven’t received that help
